About Me
My Story and I'm Sticking To It
Well, I guess I will start by introducing myself. My name is Lisa, and I found that there are many other digitizers out there with this name. So, I wanted to be different and decided to create myself a business name, Willow. I chose this name for no other reason than I liked it and primitive willow trees seem to be amongst my favorite embroidery designs. I am a stay at home mommy, who thoroughly enjoys this job. I worked in the medical field for many years, and when the opportunity arose for me to come home, I jumped at the chance. My favorite hobbies include embroidering, sewing, cross-stitching, and just about anything having to do with needles and threads. I grew fond of these hobbies as a young girl and I continue to enjoy them. While having the opportunity of a lifetime, I decided to try and make the most out of my hobbies, and bring my dream of becoming a business owner to life.
And so the adventure begins......I first started sewing and embroidering on projects for gifts and then decided to make things to sell. While I was in the process of doing a project, I found myself unable to locate just the right design I needed. I knew in my mind what I wanted, just unable to find it. It was at that moment I decided I wanted to learn to digitize. So the next step was to decide on a program to do this. I researched many different digitizing software and finally decided on Embird. It was a great program, and I was able to fit it into my budget. After creating my very first design, it was all over. I had discovered a new passion. So wanting to find ways to make money with my newly found love, I went out on the town in search of business. I visited many of the local embroidery shops and was so excited when I was called for my very first digitizing job. And even more so when they were pleased with my work and called me back for more. But the adventure doesn't stop there, its like they say in Meet the Robinsons, "Keep Moving Forward", so that is what I am doing. I decided to start digitizing clipart, some purchased and some of my own drawings, and create a design library. Which brings me to where I am at now, my new pursuit of owning a website, Willow's Embroidery Nook.
I would like to thank all of my family and friends, who have supported me along the way. And a special thanks to Tuesy for helping me test all these designs. I love you all. And to two very important men in my life, I would like to dedicate this to you.
To my husband, who has provided me the opportunity to fullfill a dream with his love, encouragement, and support. You mean the world to me baby. I love you.
And, in memory of my father, who was always there for me and believed I could do anything. I miss you, daddy.
